Thambaa Tamil Labs needs a Windows or Mac computer. It does not work on mobile phones, tablets or Chromebooks. Please confirm you have desktop access before enrolling. We cannot refund enrolments where the platform cannot be used because of an incompatible device.

Over the years we have built one of the largest collections of original Tamil learning content anywhere. Every item in it is written or produced for a specific age and a specific level.

Refunds
You can request a refund within 7 days of receiving your credentials, provided the account is unused and the Aazhimaani Level Tester has not been taken, less a cancellation fee of 500 INR plus GST. Read the full refund policy.

Before you enrol
Do I get all 1,600 books and 350 songs?
No, and we would not want you to. Those are library totals across all twelve levels. Your enrolment opens the full set of content that belongs to your placed level, chosen to match exactly where the learner is. A Level 2 learner opening Level 11 literature would learn nothing from it.
Who is this for?
Anyone of any age. A seven year old starting letters, a teenager catching up, an adult who never learnt to read Tamil, a parent abroad who wants their child to keep the language.
How do you decide my level?
The Aazhimaani Level Tester, taken free right after payment. It is the reason we do not ask you to guess your own level at checkout.
Can I use this on a phone or tablet?
No. Thambaa Tamil Labs needs a Windows or Mac computer. Please confirm you have desktop access before enrolling.
Are there live classes?
No. There are no live sessions and no weekly reviews. This is built for people who want to learn on their own terms, at whatever hour suits them.
What happens after my year ends?
You can enrol in the next level at the same rate, with its own fresh 12 months of access.

Refund policy
Thambaa Indie is a digital product delivered immediately. Please read this before enrolling.
Refunds we will make
- Within 7 days of credentials being issued, if unused. A full refund is available if requested within 7 calendar days of your login credentials being emailed, provided the account has not been logged into and the Aazhimaani Level Tester has not been taken.
- Technical issues on our side. If the platform is unusable because of a fault of ours and we cannot resolve it within 7 working days, we refund the unused portion of the access period on a pro rata basis.
- Cancellation fee. A cancellation fee of ₹500 plus GST (₹590 in total) is deducted from every eligible refund. For international enrolments the equivalent in USD is deducted.
Refunds we will not make
- Requests made more than 7 days after credentials are issued.
- Accounts that have been logged into, or where the Aazhimaani test has been taken.
- Inability to access the platform because of an incompatible device — a phone, tablet or Chromebook. Please confirm you have a Windows or Mac computer before enrolling.
- Low engagement, or the learner simply not using the labs.
- Not meeting the certificate criteria.
- A change of mind after the 7 day window.
- Disruption caused by your own internet connection or computer.
How to request one
Email courses@karky.in with your enrolment details and the reason for your request. We review every request within 5 working days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 7 to 10 working days.
Transferring an enrolment
An enrolment may be transferred to another learner at any point before the Aazhimaani test is taken. An administrative fee of ₹200 applies. Write to us to arrange it.

Terms and conditions
These apply to Thambaa Indie enrolments taken directly through this site.
1. Enrolment and access
By enrolling in Thambaa Indie you agree to these terms. The fee shown at checkout, per level per learner, covers twelve months of unlimited access to one level of Thambaa Tamil Labs. The access period begins on the date login credentials are issued and ends twelve months later. Each enrolment is for one named learner and one level only.
2. Level placement
After payment the learner completes the free Aazhimaani Level Tester. The level Aazhimaani identifies is the level activated on the account. Requests to change level after activation are handled case by case and may require a fresh enrolment.
3. Scope of content access
Access is to the content of the placed level only. The library totals published on this site describe the entire Thambaa Tamil Labs library across all twelve levels, and are not a representation of the quantity available within any single level. Content is added and updated through the year, and anything new that lands in your level during your access period is included at no extra cost.
4. Nature of the programme
Thambaa Indie is fully self-paced. It does not include live classes, orientation sessions, Zoom reviews, one to one teaching or personal tutoring. Support is by email at courses@karky.in for account, access and technical matters.
5. Progress reporting
A daily progress card is generated once the day's activities are complete, and a detailed monthly report is issued for each month of active use. Reports are generated automatically from platform activity. Where a learner is inactive for a period, the reports for that period will reflect it.
6. Platform requirements
Thambaa Tamil Labs runs only on Windows and Mac computers. It does not work on mobile phones, tablets or Chromebooks. By enrolling you confirm you have a compatible device. We are not responsible where the platform cannot be used because of an incompatible one.
7. Certification
A Karky Tamil Academy certificate is issued to learners who, within their twelve month access period, complete a minimum of 50 sessions and achieve an overall score of 60% or above at their level. Both criteria are measured by the platform. Certification is not guaranteed by enrolment or payment alone.
8. Progressing to the next level
Learners who complete their level may purchase the next one at the prevailing rate. Each purchased level carries its own independent twelve month access period, beginning on its date of activation. Unused time on a completed level is neither transferable nor refundable.
9. Content and intellectual property
All content in Thambaa Tamil Labs — books, games, songs, e-books, podcasts, videos, audio books, lessons and assessments — belongs to Karky Research Foundation and Karky Tamil Academy LLP. It may not be copied, recorded, shared or distributed without written permission.
10. Code of conduct
The platform is for the personal learning of the enrolled learner only. Login credentials must not be shared. Misuse, sharing of credentials, or attempts to extract content may lead to suspension of the account without refund.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Tamil Nadu, India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
